Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver excellence in Bowen training and education by inviting top Bowen practitioners from around the world to share their knowledge and expertise.

In keeping with our mission, we:

Provide a learning milieu that steps outside of political affiliations and transcends traditional boundaries between various “streams” of Bowen;
Seek to teach students everything there is to learn about the Bowen Technique, as made possible by the generous sharing of knowledge among Bowen practitioners; and
Envision the standardization of Bowen training and education throughout North America, with our college as a foundation for the growth of a continent-wide network of Bowen practitioners and instructors.

Our Story

As mentioned on our home page, Bowen College is the first school in Canada to teach the full range of knowledge and clinical skills necessary to optimally practice the Bowen Technique.

Accredited by the Canadian Examining Board of Natural Health Care Practitioners, we’re also the first school in Canada to offer both certificate and diploma accreditation in Bowen.

We’re based in Vancouver, B.C. but offer training in cities throughout Canada and the U.S. based on registration demand.

Our experienced, world-class instructors include Dr. Manon Bolliger, the highly respected naturopathic physician who founded Bowen College in 2008.

In addition to delivering excellence in Bowen training and education, we are proud to raise public and practitioner awareness of the Bowen Technique, and to lobby for the needs of Bowen practitioners throughout North America.

These designations do not belong to The Bowen College, they belong to the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care practitioners.

An independent Examining Board that governs smaller alternative health care modalities owns these designations.

The Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners, a certified educational institution by the Minister of Human Resources under sections 118.5 and 118.6 of the Income Tax Act, is a complementary health care organization which has, since 1991, set professional and measurable working standards for the field of complementary health care. This has been done in order to promote and support effective, safe, and ethical holistic health care practices. The CEBHCP Board addresses complaints either from the Teaching Institution (B.C.), members or from the Public.

The Bowen College applied for the use of this designation and acquired it based on meeting the criteria deemed necessary from the Board.

Our instructors are diverse and highly qualified, ensuring you a rich educational experience whether you’re an established Bowen practitioner, an established practitioner in another healing modality or a newcomer to the healing arts. Both locally and internationally based, our instructors are committed to the spirit of sharing that defines our learning community.
Our curriculum, which integrates key anatomical, cranio-sacral, visceral and meridian concepts, is well-grounded and comprehensive. It seeks to share the full repertoire of knowledge and skills that Tom Bowen and not just one, but all of his protégés had to offer.
Our learning environment is progressive and innovative, with core courses that lay the foundations and specialty courses that allow in-depth focus on specific health challenges. In addition to learning how to use the Bowen Technique to help the body heal, you’ll learn how to run a practice so that everything you do reflects your dedication to the art of Bowen.
