Bowen Fascial Connections Part 1 (202)
In this course the students learn about the lines of tension that connect Bowen Protocols with the layers of deep fascia.
“FASCIA IS THE SOFT TISSUE COMPONENT OF THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE SYSTEM THAT PERMEATES THE HUMAN BODY. IT INTERPENETRATES AND SURROUNDS MUSCLES, BONES, ORGANS, NERVES, BLOOD VESSELS AND OTHER STRUCTURES. FASCIA IS AN UNINTERRUPTED, THREE-DIMENSIONAL WEB OF TISSUE THAT EXTENDS FROM HEAD TO TOE, FROM FRONT TO BACK, FROM INTERIOR TO EXTERIOR. IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY; FOR PROVIDING SUPPORT AND PROTECTION; AND ACTS AS A SHOCK ABSORBER. FASCIA HAS AN ESSENTIAL ROLE IN HEMODYNAMIC AND BIOCHEMICAL PROCESSES, AND PROVIDES THE MEDIUM THAT ALLOWS FOR INTERCELLULAR COMMUNICATION. FASCIA FUNCTIONS AS THE BODY\'S SECOND LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST PATHOGENIC AGENTS AND INFECTIONS AFTER THE SKIN. AFTER INJURY, IT IS THE FASCIA THAT CREATES AN ENVIRONMENT FOR REPAIR.” {Wikipedia reference}
The student will learn to use the fascia as a tool for assessment by examining the tension within the musculoskeletal system, the viscera and the nerves. Students will learn how to listen to the fascia and then determine which Bowen Protocols would best suit their clients’ needs in relieving pain, general issues and regaining vibrant health. The first part of the course is mainly focused on the upper body:
- General assessment
- Spinal assessment/spinal projections
- Neck/TMJ
- Scapular assessment
- Upper body nerves
- Visceral assessment
- Emotional connections
- Additional Bowen Protocols
