409 – TMJ – The “Essential” TMJ Wokshop w/Rom Phelan

The “Essential” TMJ Workshop

This workshop will consist of the NST theory relating to how the TMJ affects the body, practical assessment protocols and treatment components for all therapists. You will be able to use the NST/Bowen to practice and test out their effectiveness on a number of different types of TMJ disorders.

Some key points this workshop will be addressing are:

  • The primary and secondary respiratory systems
  • Craniosacral aspect of the TMJ in relationship to the pelvis
  • The Stomatognathic system and the effects of dysfunction on this system
  • Normal and Dysfunctional aspects of the TMJ, including the mechanical, neurological and the hormonal aspects associated with the TMJ.

The course will be covering dental terminology, general symptoms, and Tom Bowen’s evaluation of the jaw, Funston and related trigger points. Included is a look at the scanning software for the TMJ that is currently in use today as well as different case studies. A video presentation at the end of the day which will present the amazing effects of the TMJ has on the body which will include a look into movement disorders, Tourettes’s syndrome, Torticollis and Parkinson’s disease.

Don’t miss out on this in depth look into the TMJ in relation to the body and the NST/Bowen used to test the effectiveness on a number of different disorders. This will be an invaluable tool to add to your Technical training as a Bowen Therapist.
