Taking the wellbeing of our clients as our own is far more common than you think.  Actually, it stems from the belief that we can fix everything. That your patient’s story and their pain is literally yours, to the point where you have neglected or disconnected from your own body’s needs.

What it comes down to is that we feel burnt out by our perceived responsibility for our patients and their wellbeing.  Have you ever felt that with you they may not get better? Have you ever devalued or misunderstood your value and ended up feeling stretched or that you were personally responsible for their wellbeing?

The unquestioned belief is that we are indispensable to the client’s experience of wellness and to their health.

Is there a part of that statement which resonates with you?
